Virtual Psychotherapy Across Ontario
Life can become overwhelming in ways we don't always expect. You might be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, or a sense that something in your life just isn't working anymore. Whatever brings you to therapy, you deserve a space where you can speak openly, feel understood, and explore what matters to you. Virtual psychotherapy makes that support accessible from wherever you feel comfortable, without the need to travel or rearrange your life to get there.
Not sure what kind of support you need? We’ll help you find the right place to start.
Wherever You Are.
At Authentic Living London, we believe meaningful therapy begins with feeling genuinely heard, understood, and respected. Our therapists bring different areas of expertise, clinical approaches, and life experiences to their work, but share a commitment to providing compassionate, individualized care.
We know that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, especially when you're unsure what to expect. Our approach is collaborative, which means we work with you to understand your experiences, explore what's important to you, and find ways forward that make sense for your life. Therapy isn't about telling you who to be or how you should feel. It's about helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and supporting the changes you want to make.
Virtual psychotherapy allows us to bring that same personal connection and professional care to clients throughout Ontario. Whether you're joining a session from your living room, a private office, or another comfortable space, our goal is to create an environment where you can speak openly and feel supported. The setting may be virtual, but the therapeutic relationship is very real.
Whatever You're Facing, You Deserve Support
You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Perhaps you've been feeling anxious or overwhelmed, struggling in your relationships, carrying the effects of past experiences, or finding it difficult to feel like yourself. You may know exactly what's troubling you, or you might only recognize that something needs to change.
Whatever brings you here, our therapists offer a supportive space to explore what you're experiencing, better understand yourself, and develop ways to navigate life's challenges. We believe meaningful change begins when you feel safe enough to be yourself, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
What Can You Expect from Virtual Therapy?
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you've never spoken with a therapist before. You might wonder what you'll talk about, whether you'll feel comfortable opening up, or if meeting through a screen can really provide the connection you're looking for.
Virtual psychotherapy works much like an in-person session. You'll meet privately with your therapist through a secure video platform, where you can talk about what's happening in your life, explore difficult emotions, and work toward goals that matter to you. Your therapist will guide the conversation while allowing you the space to move at a pace that feels comfortable.
You don't need to prepare anything or know exactly what to say. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your therapist will help you find a place to begin.
Therapy That Fits Into Your Life
Finding time for yourself isn't always easy. Between work, family responsibilities, and everything else life demands, getting to a therapy appointment can feel like one more thing to manage.
Virtual psychotherapy removes the need to commute, arrange transportation, or spend extra time travelling to and from appointments. You can meet with your therapist from a private, comfortable space that works for you, whether you live in a busy city, a small town, or a rural community.
For people living outside London, Ontario, virtual therapy also means having access to our team without being limited by geography. You can choose a therapist based on their experience, approach, and how comfortable you feel with them, rather than simply choosing whoever happens to practise nearby.
Anxiety & Depression
Anxiety and depression can affect nearly every part of your life, from your relationships and work to your ability to enjoy the things that once mattered to you. You might feel constantly on edge, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or simply unlike yourself. Our therapists can help you understand what you're experiencing, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical ways to feel more grounded and connected to your life.
Trauma & PTSD
Traumatic experiences can continue to affect how you feel, think, and relate to others long after the experience itself has ended. You might struggle with feeling safe, trusting others, managing difficult emotions, or understanding why certain situations trigger such strong reactions. Our therapists offer a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that respects your boundaries and helps you work toward greater stability, understanding, and a sense of control over your life.
Relationships & Couples Therapy
Relationships can be a source of connection and comfort, but they can also leave us feeling hurt, misunderstood, or disconnected. Whether you're struggling with communication, recurring conflict, trust, or uncertainty about the future of a relationship, therapy offers a space to better understand what's happening. Our therapists support individuals and couples in exploring relationship patterns, strengthening communication, and finding greater clarity about what they need and want.
Identity, Self-Esteem & Personal Growth
It's easy to lose sight of who you are when you've spent years trying to meet other people's expectations. People-pleasing, perfectionism, self-doubt, and difficulty setting boundaries can leave you feeling exhausted or disconnected from yourself. Therapy offers an opportunity to explore how these patterns developed, understand what matters to you, and begin making choices that reflect your own needs and values. You don't have to become someone different to build a more fulfilling life.
Grief, Loss & Life Transitions
Grief isn't limited to the death of someone you love. It can also follow the end of a relationship, changes in your health, family estrangement, or the loss of a future you had imagined. Even positive life changes can bring unexpected feelings of sadness, uncertainty, or disconnection. Our therapists understand that loss affects people in different ways, and that there is no correct timeline for adjusting to what has changed. We offer a compassionate space to explore your experiences, honour what matters to you, and find your way forward at your own pace.

Common Questions About Virtual Psychotherapy
What happens in the first virtual therapy session?
Your first session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know each other. You'll meet through a secure video platform and have time to talk about what brought you to therapy, what you've been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from your sessions.
Your therapist will also explain confidentiality, answer your questions, and begin exploring how you might work together. You don't need to prepare anything or know exactly where to start. It's perfectly okay to feel nervous or uncertain.
The first session is about beginning a conversation and building a relationship where you feel comfortable, respected, and understood.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You don't need a diagnosis, a major life crisis, or a specific reason to seek therapy. Some people reach out because they're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, or difficult experiences. Others simply feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves and aren't sure why.
If something is affecting your well-being, relationships, or ability to enjoy life, therapy may be worth exploring. It can also be helpful when you want to better understand yourself, develop healthier patterns, or make meaningful changes in your life.
If you're uncertain whether therapy is right for you, our free 15-minute consultation is an opportunity to ask questions and explore whether our services might be a good fit.
Is virtual psychotherapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Research suggests that virtual psychotherapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression. The relationship you build with your therapist, your comfort with the process, and the approach used are often more important than whether you're meeting online or in an office.
Many people appreciate the convenience of attending sessions from a familiar, comfortable environment. Others simply prefer meeting in person. Neither option is automatically better for everyone.
Virtual therapy isn't appropriate for every situation, but for many people, it offers an accessible and meaningful way to receive professional mental health support.
How long will I need to attend therapy?
There's no set timeline for psychotherapy because everyone's needs, experiences, and goals are different. Some people find that a few sessions help them work through a specific concern, while others benefit from longer-term support as they explore deeper patterns or more complex challenges.
You and your therapist will work together to identify what you'd like to achieve and regularly discuss how therapy is progressing. You can also revisit your goals as your needs change.
Our aim isn't to keep you in therapy longer than necessary. It's to provide meaningful support for as long as it's helpful to you.
Can I access virtual psychotherapy from anywhere in Ontario?
Yes! Authentic Living London offers virtual psychotherapy to clients throughout Ontario. You don't need to live in London or the surrounding area to work with one of our therapists.
Whether you live in Toronto, Ottawa, Windsor, a small town, or a rural community, you can attend sessions from a private location with a reliable internet connection.
All five of our therapists offer virtual appointments, giving you the opportunity to choose someone based on their experience and approach rather than their physical location.
You can book a free 15-minute consultation to learn more about our services and find a therapist who may be a good fit for you.
How much does virtual therapy cost?
Current fees are listed on our therapy pricing page. Many extended health plans provide coverage, though what is covered depends on your insurance plan and your therapist's designation.
Do I need a referral for virtual psychotherapy?
While we welcome referrals from doctors and other practitioners, you do not need a referral and can book a first session or discovery call directly through our booking page.
What do I do if I'm not sure where to start?
It's completely normal to feel unsure about where to begin. You're welcome to call or text us at (226) 224-0301. We'll listen to what you're looking for, answer your questions, and help you find a therapist who may be a good fit for you.
