A Bit About Me

'm a Registered Psychotherapist who works with people who are tired of feeling like they have to be someone they're not.

Many of us learn early on to put other people's needs first, keep the peace, be good, work harder, or meet impossibly high expectations. Those messages can come from family, relationships, culture, or religion. Over time, people-pleasing and perfectionism can become so deeply ingrained that it's difficult to know what you actually want, need, believe, or feel. You might find yourself wondering who you are underneath all those expectations.

My approach to therapy is curious, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. After all, we're all just trying to figure out how to get through life! I don't see myself as someone who has all the answers, and I'm not interested in telling you what to do. Instead, I want to help you understand the patterns that have shaped you, question the beliefs that may no longer serve you, and reconnect with your own thoughts, feelings, and values.

I'm particularly drawn to working with people navigating identity, self-worth, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and religious trauma.

Having grown up in a fundamentalist religious environment myself, I understand how deeply religious teachings can shape our identity, relationships, and sense of worth. I also understand how difficult it can be to explain the harm of those experiences to people who haven't lived through them. Religious trauma doesn't leave visible bruises, but its effects can reach into nearly every part of a person's life. Whether you're questioning your faith, grieving the loss of a religious community, or trying to separate your own values from what you were taught to believe, I offer a space where you don't have to justify why those experiences hurt.

Gabrielle talks about why no topic is off-limits in the therapy room.

"My specialty can be summed up as I help people who have lost themselves."

Grief is another important part of my work and has been at the heart of my own journey into psychotherapy. I've experienced profound, life-altering losses that brought pain, rage, isolation, anxiety, and a sense of being completely lost. Those experiences changed me and ultimately led me to this work. I understand how disorienting grief can be, particularly when the people around you don't fully understand what you're going through.

I believe grief extends beyond death. We can grieve relationships, identities, dreams, beliefs, and versions of ourselves that no longer exist. Whatever your loss looks like, you deserve space to understand what it means to you.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Western University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I'm also certified as a sex therapy practitioner and have additional training in grief counselling, trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic approaches, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and crisis and suicide intervention. I'm a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Ultimately, I don't believe therapy is about fixing who you are. It's about understanding yourself well enough to make choices that reflect the life you actually want to live.

If you're ready to explore what that might look like, I'd welcome the opportunity to meet you. You can book a free 15-minute consultation to see whether working together feels like a good fit.

A meaningful approach to healing- Book With Gabrielle Now!

Gabrielle's approach to counselling is rooted in the belief that grief is not something to “fix” but a journey to be honored. She offers a non-judgmental, supportive environment where individuals can process their emotions, make peace with their losses, and move forward in a way that feels right for them.

Areas of Focus

Therapy for Perfectionism and People Pleasing

Do you find yourself constantly worrying about disappointing others, struggling to say no, or feeling like nothing you do is ever good enough? Gabrielle helps clients understand the beliefs and experiences behind people-pleasing and perfectionism, including fears of rejection, criticism, and not being enough. Her approach focuses on developing healthier boundaries, reducing self-criticism, and building a stronger sense of identity that isn't dependent on other people's approval.

Religious Trauma Therapy

Growing up in a rigid or controlling religious environment can shape how you see yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. Gabrielle supports individuals navigating religious trauma, spiritual abuse, faith deconstruction, and the complicated emotions that can accompany changes in belief. Therapy provides space to question long-held expectations, work through shame and fear, and explore an identity that reflects your own values.

Grief Counselling

Grief can change the way you understand yourself and your place in the world. Gabrielle supports people experiencing the death of someone they love, relationship losses, estrangement, and other significant life changes. Drawing on her professional training and personal understanding of loss, she offers a compassionate space to explore grief without pressure to move on or follow a particular timeline.

Anxiety Counselling

Anxiety can make it difficult to relax, trust yourself, or feel confident in your decisions. Gabrielle works with clients to understand how anxiety affects their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and everyday lives. Together, you'll explore ways to manage worry, respond differently to anxious thoughts, and feel more comfortable navigating uncertainty.

Identity Exploration

When you've spent years meeting expectations, fulfilling roles, or putting other people's needs ahead of your own, it can become difficult to know who you are outside of those patterns. Gabrielle helps clients explore questions of identity, purpose, belonging, and self-worth. Her work encourages curiosity about the beliefs and experiences that have shaped you, while helping you develop a clearer understanding of what matters to you and how you want to live.

Trauma Therapy

Past experiences can continue to influence how we respond to stress, manage emotions, and connect with others. Gabrielle takes a trauma-informed approach to helping clients understand these patterns, particularly when they involve childhood experiences, shame, difficult relationships, or deeply ingrained beliefs about themselves. Therapy moves at a pace that respects your needs, with an emphasis on safety, understanding, and meaningful change.

Our Belief About Grief

Grief is not something to fix—it’s something to support.

At Authentic Living London, we honour grief as a natural and valid response to loss. There’s no timeline, no “right” way to feel, and no single path through it. Whether your grief stems from death, life transitions, or other kinds of loss, your experience is real and worthy of compassion.

We believe:

  • Grief doesn’t need a cure, it needs care.

  • Sharing your story makes grief more bearable.

  • The process can be longer and heavier than anyone expects—and that’s okay.

  • Grief looks different for everyone. There are no rules, and no one gets to tell you how to feel.

  • Crying isn’t the only way to express emotion, and not crying doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.

  • With the right support, everyone has the strength to carry and move through their grief.

Let’s leave the “shoulds” behind and meet your grief with presence, not pressure.
