ANXIETY, DEPRESSION & STRESS THERAPY IN LONDON, ONTARIO
Anxiety, Depression & Stress
Anxiety, low mood, and stress rarely arrive one at a time. They overlap, feed each other, and often show up in the body before you have words for them. You do not need a diagnosis, a crisis, or a tidy explanation to start therapy.
Not sure what kind of support you need? We’ll help you find the right place to start.
Anxiety and depression can take up more room than you meant to give them.
Anxious thoughts and low mood are part of being human, but there is a point where they stop passing through and start setting the terms. Some weeks it is a racing mind and a chest that will not loosen. Other weeks it is flat and heavy, and explaining it to anyone feels like more effort than it is worth.
It is easy to start believing this is simply who you are now
We support several areas of anxiety, depression, and stress,
and we want you to know: you don't have to manage it on your own.
Anxiety
Anxiety is future-focused by nature. It scans for what could go wrong and keeps you braced for it, long past the point of being useful. That might look like a racing heart and a tight chest, or it might look like lying awake rehearsing a conversation that has not happened yet. Therapy looks at what is driving the pattern and at practical ways to work with it, at whatever pace you set.
Depression
Depression is often described as sadness, but many people describe it as nothing at all: flat, heavy, distant from things that used to matter. Getting through an ordinary day can take everything you have, and that effort is invisible to everyone around you. We will not ask you to explain why you feel this way before we start.
Stress
Stress is the one people apologise for bringing in, as though it is not serious enough to count. Sustained pressure from work, caregiving, finances or change does real damage over time, and the fact that you are still functioning is not evidence that you are fine. You are allowed to get support before things reach a breaking point.
OCD
Obsessive-compulsive disorder involves intrusive thoughts you did not choose and behaviours that bring short-lived relief at a rising cost. The content of those thoughts is often distressing enough that people avoid saying it out loud for years. Nothing you describe here will be met with alarm.
Anger Management
Anger usually sits on top of something else: exhaustion, fear, grief, or having gone unheard for a long time. When it starts arriving faster than you can catch it, or landing on people you care about, the shame afterward can be heavier than the anger itself. We work on what sits underneath it, without treating you as a problem to be managed.
Your grief is welcome here.
Your pain is welcome here.
You are welcome here.
If any of this sounds like what you're carrying,
a free 15-minute consultation call is a low-pressure place to begin.
Areas Related to Anxiety, Depression & Stress
Anxiety and low mood overlap with other things people come to us for, like chronic pain and illness (where the body and mood affect each other in both directions), ADHD (where years of managing undiagnosed difficulty can look like anxiety), or self-harm (when the pressure becomes something you manage physically). Therapy isn't about perfect categories or starting points. We can simply meet you where you are, when you're ready.
How We Work: In-Person & Virtual Counselling
In Person
We see clients in person at 130 Thompson Road in London, Ontario, inside the Thompson Medical Center (TMC+) with plenty of free parking available.
Virtually
Our therapists offer virtual therapy across Ontario, for flexible, comfortable and convenient sessions. You can read more about virtual therapy across Ontario if you'd like.
Approach
While every therapist brings their own story, style and way of working, many draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) when working with anxiety and low mood. CBT looks at the link between what you think, how you feel and what you do, and gives you something practical to work with between sessions.
Naming what's wrong is hard. You don't have to do it alone or get it right on the first try. Let's start with a conversation, and we'll help you find the right place to start.
If you don't see your exact situation here, please reach out anyway. Chances are, we can help.

Common Questions About Anxiety & Depression Therapy
What happens in a first session?
The first session is usually mostly you talking and your therapist listening. You can expect to be asked what brought you in and what you would like to address. There is nothing you need to prepare. Your therapist will guide you through the session, although you always set the pace.
How do I know if this is anxiety or just stress?
You do not need to work that out before booking. Both respond to support, and sorting out which is which is part of what the first few sessions are for. What matters more is whether it is interfering with your sleep, your work, or your relationships.
Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?
No. You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or a particular severity of symptoms. Many people come because something has been building for a while, and they would like somewhere to put it.
Will I have to take medication?
Psychotherapists do not prescribe medication. If medication is something you are considering, that is a conversation with your family doctor or a psychiatrist, and therapy can run alongside it. We are happy to work with you whether or not medication is part of your picture.
How long does therapy for anxiety or depression take?
It varies, and often greatly, depending on the person. Some people come for a focused stretch of sessions around a specific difficulty, while others stay longer. You and your therapist will review your goals and progress together as you go.
Do you offer virtual therapy across Ontario?
Yes, we offer secure video sessions anywhere in Ontario, as well as in person at our London office.
What does therapy cost?
Current fees are listed on our therapy pricing page. Many extended health plans provide coverage, though what is covered depends on your insurance plan and your therapist's designation.
What do I do if I'm not sure where to start?
That is completely normal. We invite you to call or text (226) 224-0301, and we will help you find the best way to begin.
